DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThe Challengers tournament is the third event on our annual calendar and is an excellent pathway to gain a guaranteed (and free!) entry to the Canadian Championship tournament. \nEntry Deadline: August 15\nStart Date: September 1\nQualification: open to all CCCA members.\nEntry fee: $15 \nFormat: Up to 10 games\, based upon the number of entries\n2-6 => Double round-robin\n7-11 => Single round-robin\n12+ => Silli pairing system (10 games) \nTime Control: Triple-Block to complete within 1 year (50 days + 1 Increment\, Initial Bank 75 days). No leave. \nCash Prizes: (pool is 50% of entry fees)\n1st => 100%\, \nUp to three (3) qualifiers to the K-series\, depending on the number of tournament entries.\n1-5 => 1 qualifier\n6-8 => 2 qualifiers\n9+ => 3 qualifiers\nTie-Breaks: full TBs to be applied to both cash prize and advancement.\nNotes: A positive score (> 50% of the possible points) is required for both cash prize and qualification to the K-series. As there can be up to three free qualifications to the K-series (valued at $25 each)\, only a single cash prize will be awarded.

DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThe Canadian Championship begins our annual calendar and  is the premier event of the CCCA. \nEntry Deadline: December 15\nStart Date: January 1\nQualification: all CCCA members can apply to play\, with 13 players being the maximum accepted. Up to 3 qualifiers will come from the linked D-series event and the remainder of the field will be determined based on the highest rated applicants using the final ICCF rating list of the year (YYYY/4).\nEntry fee: $25 \nFormat: Up to 12 games\, based upon the number of entries\n2-7 => Double round-robin\n8-13 => Single round-robin \nTime Control: Triple-Block to complete within 2 years (50 days + 5 Increment\, Initial Bank 50 days). No leave. \nCash Prizes: (pool is 90% of entry fees)\n1st = ~50%; Canadian Correspondence Chess Champion title\n2nd = ~30%\n3rd = ~20%\nTie-Breaks: full TBs to be applied to both cash prizes and title.\nNotes: A positive score (> 50% of the possible points) is required for cash prizes. The free D-qualifiers count as paid entries towards the prize pool.
