Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place online today. The minutes of it will be published in the next issue of CHECK!

Rudolf Kolesnikov Memorial Team Tournament (Semi-finals)

This is the 7th ICCF team event for players rated under 2300. It’s being played in memory of IM, IA (FIDE; ICCF) Rudolf Kolesnikov (1938-2023) from Ukraine.

The semi-finals officially got underway on July 1st, 2024. In order to view all the sections on-line go to https://www.iccf.com/tables, click on Memorial Team Semi-finals, and then click on the appropriate links.

Canada finished in 5th place in section 1, with a team score of 33.5/72.  Final cross-table standings. Our players’ results:

KE79 (2023) New Canadian Champions

KE79 Canadian Championships (CCCA) Final 2023 has ended today.
Congratulations to the new Co-Champions IM Marius Zubac and CCM Sylvanus McLeod! They shared the amount of $260 that represents the portion of the prize fund allocated for the top 2 places.

We also have a tie for the 3rd place between IM Sam Sharpe, IM Alex Barclay, and Michael Hryniw. They shared the remaining $50 allocated for the 3rd place.

Dan Friedman earns ICCF CCM title

The ICCF Qualifications Commissioner has confirmed the award of the ICCF Correspondence Chess Master (CCM) title to Dan Friedman. Congratulations!
